About the CleaveMaster LDF™The CleaveMasterLDF is a high precision fiber cleaver, designed for cleaving of Large Diameter Fibers up to 1000 um. The cleaver can handle all common fiber shapes such as circular, hexagon, octagon and D-shapes. A unique and patent pending cleaving process generates typical cleave angles of less than 0,5°. An advanced image processing system is used to achieve optimal cleaving performance with different fiber types and shapes. The image processing system automatically detects the fiber shape and rotates the fiber into a correct cleaving and splicing* position. The built in Microprocessor controls all vital parameters and settings, such as fiber alignment, clamping, fiber tension and the exact position and speed of the diamond blade. This control of sensitive parameters guarantees a high cleaving repeat-ability and accuracy. Cleaving performance is enhanced by the use of fiber handling kits that are optimized for a specific fiber dimension.
The cleaver is designed to generate minimum amounts of fiber waste, typically less than 20 mm. An automatic waste disposal system removes any hazardous fiber scraps. The cleaver can be operated through an external PC, that controls the image processing. It also gives access to all programmable parameters and settings.
